To find the most effective keywords and phrases, Localmn focuses on:
1), which keywords your buying customers are searching for
2), which keyphrases your competition are targeting (and
more importantly, what they are not targeting)
3), selecting your targeted keyword phrases to place in your natural-flowing
web copy.
4) utilizing your targeted keywords in your link campaign
1) Research and Find keywords your
customers search for:
If you sell Fender guitars, a good keyword could be "guitar".
However, if you sell these guitars in your Minneapolis store only, a search
from someone in Dallas probably wouldn't be useful.
If you do sell online, maybe you have a page specifically for a Fender
"Squire" Strat. Optimizing this for "guitar" would
bring you traffic, but not the best targeted traffic.
2) Which keywords and keyword phrases
are your competition focusing on?
You have competition, lots of it and there will be more. The more competition
there is for a keyword phrase, the more diligent work is needed to find,
exactly, what your competition have capitalized on.
3) Now that we have our keywords
and key phrases, what do we do?
It would be great if you could just throw them in your tags and copy.
There's definitely much more to it than that. We'll strategically place
them in each tag. For instance, we'll place the Meta tags differently
than we will for your Title tags.
The next part is placing them in your copy. This deserves its own section
and we'll point you to our Web Copywriting page.
4) Utilizing Keywords for your
Link Campaign
The web is built on links, and your
link popularity campaign is now more important than ever.
Using keywords as well as your company name in your titles and
descriptions can help your users identify you and boost your
search engine visibility.
